Chairman
Matthew F. C. Miau
Miau is Chairman of MiTAC-SYNNEX Group and was one of the founders of Taiwan’s high-tech industry in the early 70’s. Under Miau’s leadership, the MiTAC-SYNNEX Group has grown into a conglomerate with 40 companies worldwide, including five publicly listed companies on the Taiwan Securities Exchange and a public company listed on the New York Stock Exchange (SYNNEX Corporation).
Graduated in U.C. Berkley, California, Miau received his bachelor degrees in Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, later received his MBA degree in Santa Clara Univ., while working as an engineer at Intel, where he was a member of the microprocessors design team. In 2002 Miau was awarded Honorary Ph.D. degree by the National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan. Miau served as the convener of NICI from 2001 to 2006. He was the representative of APEC Business Advisory Council from 2009 to 2016. In 2017, he received Mapect Taiwan Mergers and Acquisitions Awards. In 2018, he was awarded the Industrial Technology Research Institute Laureate.
President
TC Chou
Dr. Chou co-founded Harbinger Venture in 2000 and has built Harbinger to be a Pan-Pacific early to mid-stage value-added technology venture firm with over 150 portfolio companies in Greater China and Silicon Valley.
Before founding Harbinger, he also served as General Manager of Tianjin Datian Enterprise Co. Ltd.; Vice President of Ek Chor Distribution Co. Ltd. in China; and Director of Corporate Development at Roll International in California.
Dr. Chou specializes in mergers and acquisitions, venture investment, and incubation. He has brought over 60 companies to public and been instrumental in several successful M&A deals of his portfolio companies.
Dr. Chou holds a Ph.D. from Rutgers, and an MBA from Wharton. He received his BS in Agricultural Chemistry from National Taiwan University.
Senior Vice President
TP Wang
With EE graduate school background of National Taiwan University and Executive’s Program of Technology Management in National Cheng-Chi University. After 8 years at the helm of market and industry research in MIC/III, TP joined Harbinger in 2000.
Initially, his investment focused mainly early to mid-stage start-ups in IT-related Industries in Taiwan/China/Silicon Valley. With direct exposure in Silicon Valley from 2001-2002, and fortuitously caught on the emerging of China VC industry development in 2005-2008 , TP mastered the essential VC game rules among the three different markets.
With maturing investment judgement, TP started to extend his investment vision to include biomedical industry by 2010. In the coming future while maintaining the the investment vision, he would further emphasize and focus on deep-technology development.
Vice President
Ronald Han
Mr. Han has been with Harbinger venture since 2000. He has over 25 years of experience in the Greater China region. He invested in over 50 companies from early to mature stage covering various industry sectors.
Prior to joining the Harbinger, he began his investment career in 1992 in Union Petrochemical group for M&A and financing activities. And then he joined Union Venture Capital, (est. 1995, 100% owned by Union Petrochemical), responsible for investment sourcing, deal execution and portfolio management.
Mr. Han graduated from Fu-Jen Catholic University with BA degree in International trade in 1988. He received his Master degree in finance from George Washington University in 1994.
